La Réserve Paris: The Art of Feeling at Home

There are Paris hotels that impress you the moment you enter. La Réserve Paris does something quieter. It makes you feel as though you have been invited into a beautifully kept private home, somewhere just off the Champs Élysées where the city is close but never overwhelming.

A private mansion in the heart of Paris

At 42 avenue Gabriel, La Réserve sits between Avenue Montaigne and Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré. The address is remarkably central, yet a curtain of trees gives the entrance a sense of discretion. Inside, the atmosphere recalls an elegant early twentieth century Parisian apartment, with silk wall coverings, velvet, antique furniture and herringbone parquet.

There is no conventional grand reception experience. Guests are welcomed in the Louis XV Salon before being guided towards their room or suite. The idea is simple and wonderfully effective: arrive as a guest, not as a room number.

The rooms are made for staying in

La Réserve has 15 rooms and 25 suites, with generous proportions and a distinctly residential feeling. Each room and suite has a dedicated butler, available to anticipate the small details that make a stay feel effortless. The result is closer to a private residence than a traditional palace hotel.

Le Gabriel and the pleasure of staying in

For gastronomy, Le Gabriel is the house’s signature restaurant, led by Jérôme Banctel and awarded three Michelin stars since 2024. His cooking is precise, contemporary and deeply personal, with seasonal produce, refined sauces and a strong sense of place. La Pagode offers another interpretation of the culinary experience, while the library and bar invite you to pause between meals.

A pool beneath Paris

The Spa Nescens is one of the hotel’s most seductive details. Its 16 metre indoor pool, hammam, fitness area and treatment rooms create a rare feeling in Paris: the possibility of disappearing from the city without actually leaving it.

The M&M’s Diary Edit

This is a hotel for travellers who want Paris to feel personal. Spend the morning walking towards the Tuileries or the Grand Palais, return for a quiet lunch or a treatment, then let the concierge shape the evening. If you value space and privacy, choose a suite. And if the idea of feeling at home matters more to you than a grand lobby, La Réserve belongs high on the list.

Address: 42 avenue Gabriel, 75008 Paris, France.
